2022-2025
Complex Waterproofing Requirement with No Room for Compromise.
Set high on the banks of the Cumberland River, Peabody Union is a mixed community of strategically curated retail, residential, restaurant, and office units. Because of the size, scope, and location, Peabody Union presented the kind of job where coordination and execution mattered at every stage.
With a deep below-grade garage, the project required N&S to manage a wide-ranging scope of waterproofing solutions. N&S installed approximately 100,000 square feet of hot-applied waterproofing, 80,000–90,000 square feet of below-grade waterproofing, 2,000 linear feet of expansion joints, along with sealants, traffic coatings, and an air-barrier system across the two buildings.
The project also called for a creative solution when tapered insulation for the TPO roof became difficult to source. N&S installed a hot-applied waterproofing system that allowed the project to move forward, with a green roof installed over the completed waterproofing.
The work earned N&S the project’s Top Safety Award, but that recognition speaks to more than just the finished waterproofing system; it reflects the team’s ability to manage complex scopes and execute the work safely from start to finish.
