Project Spotlight: Fifth + Broadway

A Cornerstone Development. Multiple Contracts. One Waterproofing Partner.

Fifth + Broadway transformed one of downtown Nashville’s most historic sites, incorporating the footprint of the former Nashville Convention Center into a major mixed-use destination for a new era. N&S was involved throughout the entire construction project, providing waterproofing and related services across the residential, retail, and office components.

The team managed seven separate contracts covering everything from below-grade waterproofing and traffic coatings to air barriers, sealants, and water repellents. N&S also provided design-assist support for the expansion joint system within the commercial spaces, working directly with the architect and manufacturer to develop a solution that balanced performance with the building’s specific requirements.

The site’s scale and complexity required careful coordination, particularly as the project extended below grade and tied new construction into the existing footprint. N&S also installed the green roof system and maintained the property after construction.

Since the initial waterproofing scope during construction, N&S has become a long-term partner, helping the property management team solve complex building-envelope challenges from the ground up and continuing to support the property for years.
